A lovely selection for you this month as the days close in & the smell of fireworks finally clears itself from our nostrils. Notable live music activity this month includes an absolutely storming gig from Dub Pistols at the very very new venue (well, it opened in March) the Lafayette in London’s King’s cross. Now, onto the vinyl.

Our Album this month is from the excellent Italian techno producer and live artist, Giorgia Angiuli. With a vast range of influences, Angiuli has honed a unique sound. Both her classical background and appreciation for dance-driven beats are prominent in her work, often trademarked with complex layered melodies, dramatic harmonies and sparse but considered lyrics. ”Quantum Love” is an atmospheric, hop-filled album. If you like it, go find her live performance videos on Youtube. Her background as a classical musician and instrument collector really shine through.

This month’s single is from Fife born, Bristol/Berlin based Geoff Wright aka Kemback. By day, Kemback teaches music production classes to students in Berlin, with such a musical background, his latest EP, “Moving Through Clouds” is every bit exquisite as you'd think. Open-ing with the luscious 'I Need You', hi-hat, bongos and sumptuous strings are just some of the ele-ments that blend together seamlessly, a touch of modern jazz-house. The experimental combinations continue on 'Stepping Back', a heavy breaks track coupled with arps and saxophones.Our pick of the EP is Kim Brown’s hazy strings - led half step remix of the title track.
