The Letter
Welcome to the first box of the autumn! We hope that your summer has gone well and has been filled with musical joy. Some of you definitely enjoyed last month’s bonus of two albums, and we have had some great feedback on that. We’ll keep trying to regularly get you bonuses going forward when we find those hidden gems!

Now, onto the vinyl.

Our Album this month is Catching Flies' debut album “Silver Linings.” Originally released in 2020, this has recently been repressed and we jumped at the chance to get you a copy. Producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ George King began Catching Flies in late 2012, and quickly released two critically acclaimed EPs. It took him a few more years to get this album released, and it was worth the wait. It is an atmospheric journey through jazz, house, hip hop and electronica, and worth sitting down with a cup of tea to chill with.

This month’s 12” is also a reissue, but one from much earlier. “The Test Press EP” is a proper slice of UK Garage from 1995. Remastered from the original DAT tapes, this is a sought after EP from back in the day that encapsulates that mid-’90s club vibe perfectly. Turn up and enjoy!
