The Letter
With the weather warming up, we thought it was apt to send you something drenched in sun. Thundercat’s third album Drunk was one of the highlights of 2017 for me, so when we were offered his latest It Is What It Is, I jumped at the chance before I’d even had a listen, which is how much confidence I had that it would bang hard. Luckily, it doesn’t disappoint. Definitely on the more experimental side than Drunk, this record is definitely leaning into the more oddball side of his persona, but then you play the utter joy of Black Qualls or the sexy af vibes of Fair Chance and you see why Thundercat is the king of odd soul.

Without a doubt, Jarvis Cocker is a god in the indie scene. For those who haven’t heard his side project musings of JARV IS are in for a treat. I wanted to send out MUST I EVOLVE? last year when it came out, but missed out, so I was glad to see they restocked so I could share this weird slice of indie-electronic-pop. While the A-side is great, it’s the remix that I am in love with. It’s a big, old love letter to 80s off-kilter house.
