This issue comes off the back of a great gig with the team: we popped over to the Jazz Cafe in London to see legends David Rodigan, Kenny Ken and DJ Ron for a night of roots and Jungle. An absolute blast! If you’re in or around London we do recommend the Jazz Cafe as one of the best venues & one of the few old school ones left after years of culling our nightlife spots. A lovely team and a great sound system there too. Go check them out!

Now, on to the vinyl another 2 LP month for you all, and this month’s records really tick the obscurity box in our repertoire!
Our first album is a little-known rerelease of an ‘80s rarity. Nadja were an Italian quartet that was hugely influenced by the British new wave, goth and post-punk movements, & this is their second release. Originally a tape only release, “Eros” was dropped by the band in 1985. The album will resonate with lovers of Joy Division, early Cure and their contemporaries. Thanks to our friends at Spittle records, we’ve managed to get our hands on the super rare reissue for you. Turn the lights down and pretend you’re back in the mid-80s with this one.
Our second LP takes us back a decade to 1973. This is again a limited reissue of an extremely obscure and highly sought after British Jazz LP in a free avant-fusion-progstyle: Quincicasm. This is one of those super cool LPs from the early 1970s, hence the strange name & high price tag on the original issue, which sells at over £100 a pop when it surfaces. This has been described as “a brilliant document of the 70's British underground electric jazz scene. Somewhere at the crossing of open form jazz and art rock explorations.” So get a coffee ready and warm up your chin stroking hand. Or just chill out on a Sunday afternoon with this and a good book.
