Now, on to the vinyl:

Your album this month is “A Short Distance To Fall,” the seventh LP release from prolific Brighton based producer/ DJ/ instrumentalist Flevans (aka Nigel Evans). The press release for this one promised “electronic via house and trip hop” and an album that’s all about “…getting you back on the good foot“. That’s something we can all relate to! Featuring no less than five singles, this album delivers on its promise, with snippets of electronica, disco, funk, beats, soul and downtempo - delivering them all with a warm, musical, lo-fi aesthetic. It will have you grooving before you know it. DJ skills at their best. If you like bands like The Avalanches Nightmares on Wax, Folamour or Art of Tones, you will love it!

The 12”` for this month is a double A side from Via Maris. This is an unvault which we’ve been lucky to get. First released in 2017, “Swarm / Tempora” is one of four releases so far from the artist, about whom not much is known, other than his releases on the Bristol-based Livity sound label (run by the Peverelist - check him outfit you don’t already know!). This is a moody, rhythm led piece of UK sound electronica, perfect for a post-club chill or loud through headphones travelling through cities. This one needs volume to truly appreciate it,.
